Each CRC mediator has received 30 hours of general mediation skills training and meets the requirements under Minnesota Supreme Court Rule 114 for qualified neutrals. Once a volunteer is trained, they spend time observing mediations and then co-mediating with experienced mediators. After observations and co-mediations, there is time for debriefing and asking questions. This is a time of great learning and growth, to begin a process of developing a mediation practice of thoughtful reflection after each mediation.
If you are interested in training to become a mediator, check out our events calendar for the next 30-hour training, offered about four times each year. If you are interested in a scholarship to the 30-hour mediator training, please fill out a scholarship application.
Being a volunteer mediator is thoughtful and challenging work, and it is a meaningful way to give back to your community. You can make a difference in the lives of people in conflict.
